EBRD Partners with Beacon Power Services to Drive Grid Modernisation
The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), a multilateral development bank focused on supporting private-sector growth and sustainable economic development, is backing Beacon Power Services (BPS) to accelerate the digital transformation of Nigeria’s electricity distribution sector.
This marks an important milestone in BPS’s mission to help utilities build more efficient, reliable and financially sustainable electricity networks through technology and data-driven intelligence.
Through this partnership, BPS will expand the deployment of smart metering systems, grid management software and meter data management solutions across electricity distribution companies (DisCos) in Nigeria.
These technologies will enable utilities to improve network visibility, strengthen billing accuracy, reduce commercial and technical losses, and enhance revenue collection. Electricity customers are also expected to benefit from improved access to consumption and billing information through digital platforms, supporting greater transparency and customer engagement.
Speaking on the partnership, Bim Adisa, Founder and CEO of Beacon Power Services, said: “This partnership is a strong endorsement of our vision to transform electricity distribution through technology.
